Building the Reputation Layer: Badges, XP, and Progression
Badges: Proof of Contribution and Growth
Badges in ForU are achievement markers that act as identity artifacts, behaviour proofs, and growth records. Earning a badge captures a notable milestone or trait – from being a top creator, to completing key quests, to embodying a specific persona.
All badges are non-transferable, so they authentically represent a user’s own achievements and reputation.
Badge Tiers
Every badge in ForU has a rarity tier from 1 to 4:
Tier 1 – Common
Tier 2 – Uncommon
Tier 3 – Rare
Tier 4 – Prestige / Legendary
Higher-tier badges are:
More visually distinct, and
Heavier in weight for rewards and reputation.
A higher-tier badge is a strong social signal of expertise, consistency, or impact in that area.
How Badges Are Earned
Users can obtain badges through several paths:
Achievement Milestones Unlocked by reaching predefined milestones (e.g. number of posts, engagement thresholds, XP levels, or contribution streaks).
AI-Detected Traits The AI engine automatically awards certain badges when it detects recognisable behaviour patterns. Many of these are hidden badges – users don’t know they exist until they unlock them.
Quests and Campaigns Completing specific quests or campaign tracks can grant campaign-exclusive badges.
Badge Fusion
ForU introduces Badge Fusion, a system that lets users combine or upgrade existing badges to unlock new ones.
Fusion is based on “recipes” – specific combinations of badges or conditions.
When a fusion recipe is met, the system checks that the user holds the required badges and then grants a new fused badge.
Importantly:
Fusion does not burn or consume the original badges. Users keep their existing badges and simply add the new one on top, preserving their full achievement history.
Many fusion pathways are deliberately hidden. This creates:
A sense of discovery and mystery, and
Encourages users to experiment and collaborate to uncover rare and prestigious badges.
